Im redoing my tank. Im switching to sand and rock formation. Would like some input on formation before i do it. I have a before pic too. Thanks

I have no idea what it is. I got it when i bought my 55gal. Is that really bad. Should go buy something else. And if so what kind

There's alot of options from cheap to expensive. The best looking cheaper choice IMO is pool filter sand. I prefer black sand as it really brings out the color of fish, although the it's more expensive I think it looks better. It's made by Caribsea and it's called Tabitian Moon sand. Even regular play sand works but must be rinsed thoroughly, there's load of options.

Ok finally redid my tank with sand and it looks awsome. The tank is alil cloudy but i just turned on the filter after the sand settled. The fish r alil confused but seem to like it. I guess we will see how it goes.

Tank looks great however you shouldn't have goldfish in with tropical fish.
