tankmates for blue gourami

I have a 10 gallon tank with 1 blue gourami help me with some stoking ideas with tankmates for him, i would like 10 get some smaller fish if possible to add more life, thanks for any help.

I've kept platies with them before! they are really cute and colorful.

Any smaller tetra would work. Do you have anything on the bottom? A small school of cories would be nice. Just as an aside a blue opaline gourami is a bit large for a ten gallon tank.

I've kept my blue gourami with bettas, mollies, cories, oto cats, and other gouramis. I don't recommend other species of gourami though because mine used to chase them around constantly despite how submissive he is.

The blue gourami will outgrow the 10g...so be looking for a bigger tank.

As far as tankmates, I have my opaline (close to a blue) gourami with glowlight and neon tetras, panda cories, and ottos. I added a Bolivian ram recently and the opaline kept chasing her, so I had to move her to my 55g. I wouldn't keep them with similar sized fish.

i have a pictus cat they get along just fine
