Hey guys.

I'm looking into getting a couple of those dirt cheap Chinese LEDs, I found a set of 2 for only $215 bucks! But, theyre not taotronics brand, the listing didn't list a brand so I'm not sure about them. I know a ton of people love the taotronics ones, but are the fixtures without a brand name pretty much the same thing? I'm just worried about the fire hazard aspect of it.

Here is the listing:

It's a mobile link, hopefully it'll still work on a desktop.

Thanks!'

Those are them. The taotronics aren't a brand name...that was the ebay seller name originally or when they became popular here. I'd make sure I get a dimmable pair for proper acclimation. LEDs are extremely good at penetrating water and can easily burn corals.

Thanks for the fast response!

Those are the blue and white version. There is also a full spectrum version out there for a few more bucks. Both will grow corals just fine, it all depends on what color you're going for.

Anything they won't be suitable to grow?

Nope. The chinese LEDs will grow everything. You can even grow acros on the bottom of the tank. Just be careful not to bleach and burn everything. They're pretty strong.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with sniperhank taotronics is definitely a brand name, just search taotronic on amazon and you'll see all the products they make, most of the people I hear of having any issues with their lights seem to be the non branded versions
