So I've recently set up my first tank, 36 gal. So far I've stocked it with 6 tiger barbs, 2 blue gourami and one spotted catfish (all recommended by a lfs employee). My cycle is just starting, ammonia slowly creeping up, is now at 0.5 mg/l no nitrites or nitrates. Anyway, what I've read about gouramis is that they're generally a peacefull fish, but my male is a damn nuissance. He's terrorised the female and chewed off a chunk of her tail, won't let her near the food. I have to feed her separately in her corner of the tank, and she's visibly weak. He even chases the barbs and tries to nip at them, but they too fast for him. I'm wondering what I should do at this point. I can't remove him as I only have one tank, maybe I should separate him into a betta cage thing, but then what to do? Any help would be appreciated
