Testing my tank

I myself don't have a water test kit yet but my brother does.. I was wondering is putting my tank water in a bottle and taking it to his house be accurate and if so how long can it stay in a bottle?

Should be fine as long as there are no contaminants in the bottle (other water, soap, soda, etc).

Use a new ziplock bag. Some plastics can hold on to stuff and release it back later. Don't sit it in direct sunlight nor do you really want it completely dark, it can skew the pH reading. An hour or so should be fine but don't let it sit too long.
