I live in the midwest where the winters are BADDD..... And the summers are hot ...My question is my breeding pair of black belt cichlids that have raised there fry to about 2 in now my pond is about 750 gallons...What would I need to do to make it safe for them for the summer....the plan is buy another big tank by the end of the summer open for ideas for my pond .....

Pond outside in mid west:
You will need a filter and an air raider
Plants- shade on hot summer days
Net or something to protect the fish from animals
And some fish

Do you live near by a river or stream? You'll definitely need netting (and even that is not 100%) my neighbor basically feeds the local Egret population where i live....(I live on the Delaware River. )

Thanks do any of you guys have any other kind of fish in your pond? And how long do you think I can keep the in the pond October or will I have to take them out sooner...

I'll ask my neighbor tonight....and get back to you "his pond"
