Hello,

75 gallon tank. Water parameters clear.

I have 7 tiger barbs in a tank together with other fish. For a few months they have all lived together peacefully with no problems. Today I noticed that two of my tiger barbs are displaying a kissing motion around in circles in the tank. I am hoping they are just trying to sort out dominance. However, they are the only two barbs in the tank where their stripes are turning green, and they are also the only two with black spots on their bottom fins.

Do I need to separate them and what do their colors mean?? Picture included.

Thanks in advance :)

Okay so I will start off by saying that I am no expert, but I would say that those green stripes are nothing to worry about at all. My guess is that some where down the line they had a Green Tiger Barb in their lineage that passed down the green color trait in their genes and it didn’t happen to come out until they got a little older. You don’t need to separate them or worry about them.
