Ordered a Tiger Lotus, Red (Nymphaea zenkeri) for my tank. I have a rock substrate. I think I need a pot and some sort of soil for this plant?

If it happens to come in as just the bulb or sprouted a sprouted bulb, you can just wait for a decent root system to form and remove it from the bulb. After you plant the lotus keep it feed with root tabs. As for the bulb, it will just sprout a new plant.

I currently am growing, from a bulb, the same plant... it is growing in sand from Home depot in my 55gal tank. Only small leaves as of yet, been in there a week. No fertilizer so far.

I have several of these bulbs. They will grow just fine in regular gravel. They will grow quite huge with the use of a good root tab or osmocote.

Thank you! Sounds like a good plant!
