Hello, my tiger oscar has been having these spots on it for a few months, it had this problem before but we used neoplex and it went away. This time we tried neoplex and pimafix but both seem to not have any effect. Does anyone have any ideas? There are no nearby fish doctors near me.

Pics are attached.

Looks like Hexamita (hole in the head disease). Get some Seachem Metroplex and Seachem Kanaplex. Dose both of them at the same time. If he's still eating well get Seachem Focus, it's a binder. Mix it with Metroplex and your fish food and feed it to him. If you can't do this then adding Metroplex to the water will also work but not as well as through feeding.

One more thing, if you got a smaller quarantine tank put him in that and medicate him. It will save you from using a lot of meds in your bigger tank which gets spendy. Especially if you have to dose a couple rounds.

Remove any carbon you maybe using when you are dosing meds so it doesn't remove it from the water.

You can use a quarantine tank that isn't cycled. Add Seachem Prime every day. These meds only last two days at a time before you have to dose again. At the two day mark do a large water change (at least 50%) with Prime and your meds again. Repeat until he's better.
