Tonga rock

Got a hold of some Tonga rock for my aquarium at a great deal. What do I need to do to it to make it ok to put in my seahorse tank. It is very white. I have it soaking in some salt water I got from a water chenge with a power head.

Is it base rock or live cause if its live I would dry it out to kill of all the hydroids on it to be free of them in your tank.

The term love for rock means that it had beneficial bacteria living in it. So, yes. Cycling you're tank is what makes it live. Rock being out of water behind killing off the bacteria.
