Transfering filters

I have an aquaclear 50 on my 26 gallon and I just got a canister to replace it. Should I just put my sponges and ceramic rings from the aquaclear in the canister? Or should I run both together till the canister cycles? I don't want to disrupt my cycle

Either way will work. When upgrading mine I like to move all the media to the new canister.

I would move the bio media to the canister. What Type of canister did you buy?

Put it on my 20 gallon - but it's empty right now, I still haven't decided what I want to stock it with - maybe a barb tank
