Treating ich with heat and salt

Hello everyone,

Yet another question. I'm treating ich using the heat and salt method. I started last Wednesday, 5 days ago, increased temp to 86 degrees and added 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon of water to the tank.

I've been doing 10% daily water changes re-adding the salt I took out.

My question is, how long to I keep replenishing the salt? Every day for ten days?

To add to this, it seems to be working as the white spots aren't on the fish anymore but I want to make sure I don't overly stress the fish by adding more salt than needed.

Your only adding salt for the water you remove right? Otherwise your turning your tank into the ocean. I leave the heat/salt for 2 weeks then perform a large change.

Haha, yes, only replacing what was taken out. 1 scoop per gallon removed.
