I recently cycled a Fluval spec v 16 gallon with an overflow and three chambers for media and equipment in the back. I recommend putting an old HOB on the new tank and when it is done cycling keep the media and get rid of the HOB. Hope this helps someone:)):fish1:

Always good to have tips [emoji106]

With the extra beneficial bacteria from the HOB it makes establishing a cycle go a bit faster. I do use Tetra safe start and has always worked for me. I also use an air stone, agitate the water, put my heater at 88,I only use foam pads, filter floss and seachem matrix to cycle,i keep the ligjts off, i stir the gravel every couple of days. AND THEN WAIT!! It usually takes me three weeks to cycle at 3ppm. :fish1::fish2::band:: Am I forgetting anything?
