A few of my plants have more then doubled in size in less then a month. Especially the grass blade looking ones. They are probably 2x the height of my tank now and the top half is just floating on top. Is it ok to trim them down some? If I trim down some other leafy plants can i replant the part that was trimmed off?

It would be helpful if you could provide actual plant names, as some plants will have very specific needs for trimming and other care.

In general you can just trim grassy plants off to what ever height you would like them to be. These generally can't be replanted to start new plants. However if you have some stem plants, you should be able trim their tops off and replant them to start new plants.

Sagittaria can be a tall-grass like plant.

My narrow leaf sag. comes up to the top of my 10gal tank. Good thing I decided to order dwarf sag. for the 5.5gal.
