truth about bettas

I would suggest a 5g-10g tank WITH A HEATER. the only fish for me that don't need a heater would be a goldfish, IMO.
And yep they don't like much movement in the top of the water , but there is lots and lots of filters that don't brake the top of the water as hard,
I have mine in a 10g with a aquaclear 50 it's over kill but it was a spare filter .

Okay thanks. I have the tank and everything. Its not going to be a new tank. I'm just going to take the platties out, and leave the shrimp, and crawfish. And then add the new betta

Any betta is going to end up as a victim with a crawfish.
