I have just made a 3 liter co2 gen, it works really well putting out 1 bubble per second. I have not used co2 before and need some advise. A lot of people seem to be letting the bubbles go into a canister filter to be diffused. Anybody have an arguement against this? Its a Fluval 305

Some people have tried that, but the efficiency is kind of hit and miss. The good news is that you can really easily (and cheaply) make an inline reactor to do the same thing without risking damage to the filter.

As aqua_chem said it could damage your filter. Any gas bubbles getting in to your filter could cause something called cavitation which ultimately could damage the impeller.
