What size uv sterilizer will work on a 65 gallon reef?

15 watt run at 130 gallons per hour.

There are several to choose from. Stay away from TurboTwist.

The slower the gph the better. Also, something that is servicable (That you can clean the quartz tube easily) is important.

It's nothing to do with tank size its all about the flow rate of your filter/pump

A 25w lets you pump 1700 lph throw it

I have no idea on other types just the ones I use

If you want the best look at the emperor sterilizer. The 25 watt lite will do the job very nicely.

I'm looking more for an in tank one because I dont have a sump

You don't need a sump just a canister filter

The in tank ones are rubbish in my opinion

They are simple to install and maintain you can buy a cheap used 25w TMC vectron for as little as £20 on eBay

That's cheap as they cost £120 new

The worst that can be wrong with it is the sleeve inside is cracked but very cheap to replace at £12

I like the older 25w vectron as Arcadia do a long life bulb that lasts 1 year as apposed to the standard 6 months

Don't be scared of them they are fool proof
