The slower the gph the better. Also, something that is servicable (That you can clean the quartz tube easily) is important.

You don't need a sump just a canister filter The in tank ones are rubbish in my opinion They are simple to install and maintain you can buy a cheap used 25w TMC vectron for as little as £20 on eBay That's cheap as they cost £120 new The worst that can be wrong with it is the sleeve inside is cracked but very cheap to replace at £12 I like the older 25w vectron as Arcadia do a long life bulb that lasts 1 year as apposed to the standard 6 months Don't be scared of them they are fool proof
