I am transitioning my 65 gallon and will be taking everything out of it and moving it to a new 90 gallon. I was at my local dollar store and saw a child's beach shovel that will work excellent for moving the substrate from one tank to the next, so I bought for a $1.
My question is, is there any reason that it shouldn't be used based on the type of plastic it is? I know you gave to be careful about what is used in aquariums and wasn't sure if there was some strange reason that there may be some type of different plastic that this shovel is or could be made of, that may be detrimental to my tank water. I am planning to use it but wanted to run it by you folks to get second opinion.
