Hey there Josh!

It's a common thought that you need a CO2 system in order to have plants, however I'm here to tell you that it isn't true! What plants do you have and/or want to add?

It is the requirements of the plants that cause the need for CO2 systems. Low light plants don't require it.

That's fine. For what you want, and keeping it easy, Java Moss is a great choice. It will grow on anything. I currently have some in 5.5g and it's acting as a "carpet" covering my substrate. Be warned, it takes awhile for it to grow out.
