Your GH can give you an idea of how much is in there, although both Mg and Ca contribute to it. Ideally you'll want a balance of both so that neither bottoms out.

Mg/Ca and a few others are usually considered secondary macronutrients, with N-P-K being at the top of the list, but it's just a matter of definition, they are still very important.
 
I don't mess with any of those chemicals and know nothing about them. When I need to increase my GH or KH I add either magnesium or calcium that I buy from the place I get my dry fertilizers from. I can tell you adding products like ph up or down are not good for the fish.
