Why doesn't my API test kit have a nitrite test in it?? It has a nitrate test.. My nitrates are at 10 should they be zero?? Makes me wonder about nitrites now...

which test kit did you buy? amd nitrates are the end product of the nitrogen cycle so its all according to what you have. my salt tank stays at 5. how long has the tank been going for?

Nitrites are in the middle.

Ammonia => Nitrite => Nitrate

you need the master test kit that comes with ph, ammonia , nitrite and nitrate

You got the test kit for corals, what you need is the saltwater master kit.
