I'm waiting to get my water tested and was just wondering how long you can keep a sample of aquarium water before anything dilutes? Or does anything even dilute?

Really need to get a test kit to test your own water. I replied to your other post, best thing you can do for your fish.

I have tested my own water with liquid tests, and can say that leaving them in the vial overnight does tend to change the color of the test, mainly ammonia I believe. It goes from a yellow or green to a brownish color. So it's definitely possible.

You can usually find the API master test kit on chewy.com for around $20. It'll be ~$32 at a chain pet store. Hope this helps.

Thanks, had to go away for a couple hrs. but didn't have a good answer for him, never tried leaving it set.
