weird question

so i have a fake rock looking thing in my tank... i put the airstone in there so it looks like the bubbles are coming out... except some of the fish like to go in the rock and knock out the airstone... im gonna have to weight it somehow... question is... can i use a sinker like from fishing... i know their made of lead usually... will this be okay and not mess with the water chemistry? seems like a good idea... lemme know thanks

I use some fishing line to tie the air stone to the rock.

I use rubber bands. The lead would probably be a bad idea to put in the water, or any kind of metal.
