First of all, is this a leech? If so, what would it do if a fish, green spotted puffer to be exact, ate one?

I think it is a leech. And now my fish have not eaten one. Haha. I just filled up a tank that had a little water in it and there were a couple in there. I'm planning on putting a gsp in there and I was making sure that if I didn't get them all and they ate one, would it be ok?

I'm pretty sur it came off a turtle I had in there awhile back.

yes it looks like that is a leech, and if the tank used to house a turtle I would recommend tearing it completely down with a thorough cleansing before using ot for fish, besides being pretty messy with huge bio loads turtles can carry some nasty bacteria better to be safe than to drop some loot on some nice new fish only to end up with problems JMO
