Weird spots on my betta

When I got my red and white betta fish his red tail was very bright and his body was pearl white, but now his red tail is kind of lost its color I have had him for a few years 3 or 4 but his body has these weird greenish spots they aren't big but they worry me! Dose anyone know what they are? I don't have a picture of them right know but I can get one. If you know how to get rid of them please tell me
