I set up my DIY CO2 system and I must be doing something wrong. I'm not getting any bubbles coming out of the pump. Any help would be great!

Is that a yeast/sugar based co2 generator system? If so, how long are you waiting for bubbles to get going? It takes a while for enough co2 to build up to displace the o2 and any water in that power head and/or tubing.

And what plant is that on the left? It kind of looks like a terrestrial plant.

It is a sugar/yeast mixture. It's been running for about an hour now. I'm wondering if the yeast was just old in the kit and won't work. If so, I've got some yeast and sugar where I can make my own.

It will probably take more than an hour...

And yes, the plant on the left with the white on the leaves is non aquatic. Commonly sold at good ol' petco... ;)

That figures about the plant! They kill me at that store! I was asking them if they had substrate and they didn't even know what I was talking about. When I told them what it was, they told me I didn't need it. Gravel was "great" for growing any kind of plants. That's what I get for not going to my regular lfs. Needless to say I found live substrate at my lfs!
