what are these things??

iv got slime growing in sheets on my sand and today when i sucked it all up i noticed tons of these little worm/grass things all over the sand. here it is... what is all this its all over the sand

also when i took the skimmer out of the first chamber of my sump i noticed tones of these little white foamy things,i also have them in the outside part of my overflow box, here they are... what are they? there are tons of them but only in the overflow box and the first chamber of the sump

you have tube (spionid)worms and sponges growing. all harmless and a sign of a healthy tank.

really ? worms.they do not move and are always there... there are so many it looks like im growing grass on the sand. did you see the pic?


will my sand ever be white again?

They are worms. Tube worms build a shell around themselves and stay in it all the time. They can only exten out of it a little bit. your sand will be about that color for ever unless you completely destroy all of the worms in it. ( I don't know why you would, but you could.)

just stir the sand a little if you don't like seeing them.
