What brand return pump

I just got a Sicce Syncra 5 pump. I saw one running at my LFS and did not here a thing. These are new so there is not a lot of info out there. they can be used as external or submersible pumps and are adjustable. the 5 series can be adjusted from 1321 GPH (0 head) to 713 GPH (0 head). I will let you know how it goes if I get it running tomorrow.

I have always run Mag Drive, pretty reliable pumps, can't say they are the quietest though.

I also suggest mag pumps. I use a mag 12 and a mag 9.5 for my return pumps. Moving this to the General Hardware and equipment discussion forum.

And I run a Gen-X PCX30 on my 150.

LIke anything, I think everybody will have a different preference.

The Gen-X is sometimes loud and sometimes very quiet. I can't quite figure out what makes it change as it happens when water level in the return is high and low.

I would be willing to try out a different pump, but so far have been happy with the Gen-X models.
