What can I do with a 1gal w/ water temp of 71?

There are SW and FW nerites You can't put a SW nerite in a FW tank or vise versa. FW nerites only reproduce in brackish water.

They ship fine. That's how LFS's get them afterall

Yes and no. I've had shipments that were 50% DOA. I've also picked them up from the lfs..many with cracked shells that didn't live long. I think the problem is they are too often shipped improperly. If shipped correctly, they ship great. If ordering, you might want to get them from severum mama and HN1...here's a list of there stock including the nerites they have.
