I have a few petricolas in with mine. They're native to the same lakes.

You could do most syndontis species my 2 favorites are the African Featherfin and cuckoo catfish.

Featherfin (synodontis eupterus) works in my mbuna tank. It took a while for him to come out in the open, but now he's all over the tank.

Yeah I know. I have both species

I have petricolas and a few upside down catfish as well as a few loaches with adult mbuna and peacocks and haps with no trouble

Update: it's now been a while and I decided to go with the pictus and their doing great!

Personally I like the synodontis angelicus. Pictus cats are cool too. They remind me of sharks.

Yeah pictus are prob my favorite. I put them with my mbuna almost a year ago and after a month one of them had bit off about half of a whisker from one if my cats but that was last summer. It's grown back and they all seem to pay no attention to them anymore. Hope it continues!
