What is the best way to make rocks from the beach sterile, tank safe?

Boil and scrub them, no detergent though, Don't need to go overboard on the boiling though. May wanna check if they will change the chemistry of the tank though, if they are pebbles they will be fine. If rocks drop a little vinegar and see if it fizzes, if it does it could change levels in your tank. Do a search on here for loads more detail

I personally wouldn't boil them as any fractures could cause them to explode in a ball of rocky shrapnel!!! Not good!!!

I scrub them well and if I know the rock type isn't porous them I'll use a mild bleach solution before rinsing very very well.

Cheers. Ive heard about the vinager test, ive also heard that on rare ocasions rocks can explode when boiled? Would sterelising fluid or tablets like u use for a babys bottle do the job?

Yeah I should think so. Still need to rinse thoroughly though. When you think you've rinsed enough do it some more just to be safe lol
