what is this clam like thing????

I would like to know if anyone could help me identify this clam like thing. I have just completed transferring my tank from a 41 gallon to my new 75 gallon and noticed this thing on one of my rocks. It is about 1.5 inches tall and ¾ inches wide and only 1/8 inch thick. Before I took the picture it looked like it was open but only like 1/8 inch. I would just like to know a little more about it and if I should remove it or let it stay in the tank. Thank you all for your help.

Leave it. It's just a species of mollusc. It will filter feed and never hurt anything.

So it's harmless but will it reproduce and become a problem or plague?

Nope. It will just sit there like that for ever.

i have three of them, they are oysters and are a good filter feeder

Well thanks for the advice I will let him stay in the tank and filter away.
