I have some plants in my 56 gallon tank with black diamond sand. I have 4 cfls 6500k. 2 are 23 watts and the other 2 are 13 watts. I don't fertilize and they don't have root tabs. They are growing good by not great. It doesn't look like algae. But can you tell me. Thanks
And how to get rid of them

Looks to be hair algae...how long do you leave your lights on?

Getcha feet wet fish tank people!

Reduce your photo-period down to 6hrs,put some root tabs around your heavy root feeders, seachem comprehensive, api leafzone&some liquid carbon...

i looked at pictures of hair algae and it looked alot thinner. mine is only growing along the edges of the leaves. im thinking its feeder roots off of the plants??? the hairs look a bit coarser than hair algae.

Looks Like Staghorn maybe..I don't think its feeder roots. They will usually grow from the stem...but not usually on crypts...

It looks more like staghorn to me. Except for not as long. Plus its been in my tank for awhile but never grows much.
