I've noticed that over the last week, there is some white stuff, like cotton, growing on the surface of my driftwood. Is this a type of fungus?

It seems my platies like to eat that but I am not sure if I should be worried about or not. How can I get rid of it?

Have a nice weekend all.

I had something similer when I was underlighting

Nope, it's normal. New driftwood tends to get that cottony growth; after a while it'll go away. It's fine if your fish eat it. You can always rub it off too but it'll probably just keep coming back until the wood is finished leeching.

Its fine, there are some fish, i think plecos that need/should have it in their diet.
