I also have what I think is a feather duster? It closes up when there is a bang and then slowly opens up it's burgundy in color and to small to take a picture of.

If you are talking about the thing towards the bottom of the pic, it's a Sand Mason Worm. Might need a closer pic but that's what I think it is. Look up "Sand Mason Worm" and look at pics.

Yes that plant looking thing it feels like a plant too

Here is another shot

Did you look up pics of the Sand Mason Worm like I suggested? Does it look like those?

The pictures of the sand mason worm had a long trunk this doesn't have a trunk and is colored. There is also another one on the other side it's smaller and another one on another rock. This rock is from indonesia and the other is Fiji. Is the sand mason worm bad?

It might be an optical illusion to me. It looks like it's branching. I wish someone else could possibly chime in. I did not do any reading on the SMW.

Looks like Botrycladia (red grape caulerpa) macro algae, but it's a rough pic.

Sorry, perhaps I am mistaken but from his responses it seemed like he was confused about two different things. We need better pics and perhaps circle what you are confused about.

Myself? Or the OP? hahahha

Sorry guys the thing that retracts is so small I can't get it into pic. It looks like a feather duster and retracts to loud noises but I can't show ya so I'll have to wait. This branch thing feels like a tree lol it's very hard

Ok this is another couple pics.

HAHAHAHA!! There we go. No wonder I was confused. From your last post description, sounds like a duster then. My dusters do that when my son taps the tank.

A couple more

I am wondering about that little tree looking thing. I seen the grape algae and that looks like the red chunky things on my rocks but it's that tree. What's it called and is it ok?

after looking at different pictures your right about my tree thanks it is a red grape kelp! My fishes I'm sure will have eaten it all soon :(
