What is this??

I just saw this stranger in my tank! First of all i got really excited 'cos I thought it was a baby cory - then I realised that what I thought was it's barbels were LEGS! I haven't got anything with legs on in my tank last time I bought some weed was a few weeks ago so maybe it arrived as an egg on that, but WHAT IS IT? It's about 3/4 inch long with a sort of 3 finned tail and a pale orange colour.

Sorry but I cant open pic properly. From what you descriped it sounds like a water nymph most likely a damsel fly. Google pics and compare.

def not damsel fly - no wings - just legs maybe a type of shrimp?

Not a damsel fly but a damsel fly NYMPH. It the stage before they become a fly. Like cattapilla become butterflys

If I were you I would just let the fish in your tank eat it.

As it was almost as big as most of my fish I gave it to my goldfish in the pond

I had one.once my fish were big enough to eat it so I left it. Next thing I new it was flying about in my house
