Noticed this spot a few days ago, amonnia is 0 or >.25. , nitrite 0, nitrate 0, ph 8.4. I added tetra correct ph and my ph is now 8.1, aiming for 7.5ish(guppies). I have live plants and have been scraping lots of 'hair like' green algea off glass every week. My plants have algea on them slightly, was hopeing lower ph fix my algea problem? Not sure exactly. Upgraded to beamswork led 110v 10000k 5200lumen light 3 weeks ago. Main concern is fish , could it be concted to my algea problem? (Had algea before light uprgrade as well

I would look into DGI.

Here is a couple links to get you up to speed ..
I do not think it is algae related at all.How long are your lights on for?
10,000k is a marine /coral spectrum.
Most freshies prefer 7200K.
Your algae is related to ;light, nutrients ,co2.
Those three things must be balanced perfectly.
If you are not dosing ferts or co2 less light is the solution.

I cant decide if to isolate him in my guppie breeder 10 gal , or put him down. He's my favorite, had him for 6 months or more but i hate to get my other fish sick or screw up my 10 gallon. Any opinions?

I would NEVER buy or own a dwarf gourami again .....
Latest studies showed an uncomfortable % infection rate on all the Asian imports...None last more then a year that come from them..
Never been a healthy fish since the beginning IMO..I had them in the 80's when they were 'new'...
It is a virus that has no cure or treatment.
If your tank is big enough look into pearl gouramis, you'll never look at another gourami again. No more beautiful gourami then a male pearl.
All the others are either BIG pigs or just mean fish IMO .

Would a pair of pearl guarami be ok with my guppies?(55 gal) I have 12 guppies, 5 male. 2 cory cat and one ghost shrimp. I let my fry live to pic the best and give unwantes ones to a friend for feeders. I usually keep my stock about like that, other than my two dwarf gouarmi now.(actually disposed of them due to fear of guppies health.) Looking ro get new gouarmi of some sort soon, was just gonna get same two but, dont want fish dying. I was sticking to small fish to keep my live plants safe. Attemping dwarf tears, dwarf hairgrass, w wisteria, anabias nana(?), and a sword. Im having slight issue with small amounts of hairgrass floating up, no noticable sighns of spreading. Would pearl gouramis rip these up?
