Could be much worse. You could have gotten a type of Xanthid crab. Emerald crabs are advertised as reef safe and sold by lfs to help clean algae in the tank. Some reefers do report having some problems with them. I never did.

So I've read since you enlightened me. When I finally got back home last night I thought something in the tank had killed it. But evidently I had another one of some kind that didn't make it because the little guy is doing fine.
