What kind of snail is this?

Here's another hitchhiker
He's almost doubled in size in the last few weeks

hmmm, some sort of whelk maybe? That is just a guess, and not even a very eduacted one, wait for more opinions on that ;)
 
Can you get a pic of the opening? Is the snail flesh red with white dots? It looks kinda like a Horse Conch.

It's definately a predator and definately a Whelk. What it preys upon I couldn't tell you. Give it a piece of seafood and see it it eats. If it doesn't eat a piece of fish or scallop then it might be a coral muncher but I'm really just guessing here.

Tulip Snail sound plausible too.
