But you would agree "stunted" or not they grow to the size of their habitat?

That is the worst argument I have ever heard. Look up the effects of stunting; it's not just that they stop growing.

I wasn't making an argument with you so please don't try and raise one with me now, as its not going to work thank you!

I got him a week ago and all the plecos at the aquarium had these stripes. I wanted to know how to lower it because i read the perfect PH for fw fish is 7.0 and mines at about 7.5 - 8 but my fish are totaly fine. I custom made the tank. Measured everything and sent it to a specialist

Settle down peoples, there's no argument to be had, science doesn't argue, fish get stunted in a surrounding less than suited for their growing needs..

Martin your ph is fine

+1. Probably add more stress trying to adjust PH, than leaving it and allowing the fish to acclimate(Plecos are pretty hardy). "Stress Marks" are normal with common plec's and can occur just from the fish moving into light from a shady spot in the tank. It wont be a clear line in my expierence, more like grey splotches based on their normal color pattern.
