A couple days ago I noticed a clear/white substance growing in my tank that sort of looks like cotton. Does anyone know what it is?

I would recommend getting it out asap. I forget what it's called but it causes a certain disease that makes it hard for fish to eat.

Keep calm and drum on

Could be a fungus. That usually looks like cotton. Fungus hates oxygen. I might try hydrogen peroxide but you have to go easy with it. To much can kill your bio filter. If it looks more like gelatinous mass then it might be bacterial mass. I have those in my dirted tank. They seem to go away on there own once organics come down to a normal level.
