I have a little 1.5gal tank that I was using to grow some tiny java ferns... I had a betta in it who died about a week after going in it for whatever reason, so before putting the ferns in it, I rinsed everything with tap water, then vinegar solution, then dechlor water.
Shortly thereafter it began growing opaque-ish, slimy muck... I dumped everything out today, have the substrate and tank sun-drying, and will scrub and rinse again before anything else goes in there (possibly shrimp, another betta if I rescue one).
Any idea what happened? I had hoped the vinegar would have killed any ookies in there, but no dice I guess... there is no such muck in my 8gal where the ferns were from.
