Hi, I have two white cloud minnows and i recently got test strips to test the water. The results are:
GH, 30
KH, 80
pH, 6.0
NO2 & NO3, 0

The strips didn't come with a key so i was wondering if these would be good levels for the minnows.
*Its a ten gallon tank and 76 degrees farehngheit

I keep my white clouds at 72 degrees. They prefer cooler than tropical temps and are often kept with goldfish in unheated tanks

Do you know what your ammonia reading is? That should be zero too

The test strips I bought don't have an ammonia section

So? You need one
Also if the water isn't 100% for the fish, you shouldn't have them in there
JMHO

in a cycled tank, nitrate shouldnt be 0. how long has the tank been setup? can you get a liquid test kit(ie,api freshwater master test kit)

I agree you need to get an ammonia test, and that a cycled tank will have some level of nitrate. The dip-strip tests often aren't quite as accurate as the liquid reagent tests (API is a good one).

Is your tank cycled already, or are you starting a fish-in cycle with the minnows?
