White Fungus on Amano Branch Wood

Can anyone tell me what this weird fungus is on my amano wood? I soaked this for 4 or 5 days after I bought it and as soon as I put it in my tank it started growing this weird white fungus. It's the consistency of mucus and smells NASTY. I've taken it out and scrubbed it twice and it keeps growing back within a day...what is it??

Hmm... New driftwood often gets white fungus... Just let it run its course unless you notice anything else.

Has anyone else had this in their tanks? Should I give up on trying to clean it off?

As long at it isn't affecting anything, leave it to run it's course. My Amano's liked to eat it XD

Ok thanks. I was hoping my pleco would eat it but so far he's totally uninterested
