They love that stuff.
And I loooove my mystery snail I have and he keeps all the algae and biofilm eaten!

It’s completely normal for driftwood. Harmless to fish but non aesthetically appealing. Just scrub it off with a brush and put it back in if you don’t want it there [emoji106].
