White scum on Malaysian wood?

It looks like thin cotton growing off the wood, is this normal? Will it harm fish and when will it go away.

I know on grape wood it rots but this is Malaysian i believe.

itll go away. its 100% normal, the fish might even eat it especially algae eaters.

you can scrub it off if you really dont like the look of it.

I have it too. It hasn't effected a thing in my tank. My red tailed shark seems to like eating it.
