White spot on gold fish

I was just wondering how long the treatment should take to get rid of it and if it leaves any marks? I have been treating 2 goldfish for about a month and I think I is getting worse :-(

How so you tell the difference?? there is about 3-5 White spots on each gill and it started with one or 2! The treatment looks like it is only slowing it down :-( any ideas?

White spots on the gills? When I see "white spot" I think of ich, but I do not think ich is seen on the gills. I think we need a real name, or a picture. And what are you treating with? Can you give us some details about your tank, too? Size, filtration level, how long has it been set up, how many fish in the tank, how often (and how big) are your water changes, recent water test results, etc.
