White webbing

I've just noticed a small amount of this white webbing on the sand around a rock in my tank. Is this a normal type of algae? I was gone for a week and a cousin was feeding them...it isn't a disease or anything is it?

sounds like a fungus from left over food rotting in the sand. simply siphon it out and go easier on the food.
