Hey everyone I am new to salt water aquariums and have just set up my first one. I have a 20 gal (long) and it has been up for about a week. I got a little anxious because school was starting so I haven't allowed it to cycle fully. I added live bacteria and about 20 lbs of live rock. I got my water tested so they it was okay so i added two clown fish and they seem to be in good health but anyone know why my live rock is turning white?

Did you have a cleanup crew in it? usually the Live rock turns white because the cleanup crew is eating up the bacteria, maybe the experts here can chime in... Mine is turning white too, but at the same time it grows Coralline algae

It could that that the new lighting is bleaching the rock. It will grow back.
What are your tank's parameters?

I know when I first added my LR it turned white but only fo a little while before long your`s will be making a comback as long as your calcium, Alk and Magnesium are OK.
